ENTRY OFF ROAD WEEKEND
TWO DAYS OF TUITION AT SWEET LAMB RALLY COMPLEX
IN A NUTSHELL:
Benefit from two days of structured tuition aimed at those who have little to no experience riding off-road. Riders use their own bikes. Price includes bunkhouse accommodation, breakfast and BBQ.
WHAT IS IT
This two days of tuition takes place at the fantastic facility of Sweet Lamb Rally Complex in Mid-Wales and is perfect for novice off-road riders who wish to get a good grasp of the basics. It's a structured programme, taking you through the basics of standing position, balance, braking and turning. Riders will ride their own machines that will need to be either trail or adventure style machines. The focus is on riders remaining in control of their machines, so whilst drops and prangs can never be ruled out completely, the nature of the tuition is aimed at keeping you upright. On the last one we had riders of all ages, male and female, riding all manner of machines. Most had very little to no off-road experience but went away feeling much more confident.
HOW IT WORKS
Arrive on the Friday at your leisure. On the evening we'll dine in a local pub (not included in the price), before the training commences Saturday morning. The bunkhouse is onsite, right at the heart of the training facility, with a cooked breakfast served both mornings. There is also space to camp right beside the bunkhouse for those who might prefer it. Saturday evening is the BBQ, with the aim to finish up by mid-afternoon on the Sunday.
WHO IS IT FOR?
It's for anyone who fancies trying their hand at off road riding in a controlled environment with expert tuition. It also allows you to learn the limits and abilities of your own bike and go away with it set up for future off road adventures.
WHO IS IT NOT FOR?
This is not for people who are experienced or confident off-road riders. It's also not for everyone who isn't prepared to pick up the odd scuff or scratch on their bike.
The price includes tuition with it usually 5 or 6 riders to each tutor. Two nights stay in the bunkhouse or camping, plus two cooked breakfasts and a Saturday night BBQ.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
You will need to bring a road legal motorcycle of trail or adventure design. Pure road tyres aren't permitted with it suggested knobbly tyres such as the Continental TKC80s are fitted in advance. A semi trail tyre such as the Anakee 3 have been used in the past and are allowed, but riders have to accept that such tyres don't offer optimum grips and groups maybe formed around those on compromised tyres. Please get in touch to discuss tyre selection further.
All riders MUST also wear proper protection clothing, including protective jacket, trousers, full face helmet, gloves and proper adventure or off-road boots. Riders not in proper gear will not be allowed to ride. Please message me with any questions about gear choice.
