WOMEN RULE WEEKEND
A WEEKEND ON THE ISLE OF MAN WITH A (SEDATE) LAP OF THE FAMOUS TRACK
WHAT IS IT
The inaugural Garbage Run TT is a long weekend ride out to the home of UK road racing; the Isle of Man. We won't be going in race week, but at a time when the island will be that bit quieter, giving us chance to ride the famous course and explore all four corners of the island. The run is ideally pitched at riders of smaller bikes, 250cc or less, simply for the fact that speeds will be low and a few gentle trails or tracks will be ridden along the way (although not compulsory). Ultimately this should be seen as a laid-back, safe paced adventure for riders of all abilities.
HOW IT WORKS
We'll catch the ferry from the Lancashire port of Heysham on the Thursday, arrive on the island at late afternoon and spend Friday and Saturday roaming around. Sunday we will return to Heysham on an early morning ferry, giving every one time to ride home in good leisure on the Sunday afternoon. The accommodation will be all camping, with some non-motorcycling activities lined up for our time on the island.
WHO IS IT FOR?
The run is for anyone who wants to get away from a long weekend, heading off to somewhere they might not have been before and enjoying the simple fun of a motorcycling holiday. Primarily it is aimed at riders of smaller machines, with the run being guided on a machine of less than 250cc.
WHO IS IT NOT FOR?
The run is not for anyone who wants to go to the island to ride flat out and on the limit around the circuit. It'll be a gentle run, experiencing the track and the island but not racing around it.
The price includes return ferry travel from Heysham to the island, three nights camping, guiding service and a couple of non-motorcycling related activities.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
You will need a fully serviced and road legal machine, preferably with breakdown cover should the worst happen. You'll also need a basic camping kit of tent, sleeping bag and mat. You shouldn't need much else but that. I'm suggesting that the smaller the bike the better for this one.
